Metalist, the Ukrainian football team, suffered a 1-2 loss to Khust in their first friendly match at their summer training camp. The defeat marked the debut match for Metalist’s new head coach, Andrey Anishchenko. The game took place on July 1 in the village of Polyana, Transcarpathian region. Stanislav Morarenko opened the scoring for Metalist in the 8th minute, but Khust responded with two goals in the second half to secure the victory. Metalist’s next friendly match is scheduled against Minaj on July 2. This comes after Metalist finished 15th in the UPL standings last season. Metalist President Alexander Yaroslavsky is currently under investigation for an unrelated incident.

Metalist played its first friendly match at the summer training camp. The team lost to Khust (1:2) in the debut match of their new head coach Andrey Anishchenko.


On Saturday, July 1, Metalist played its first match at the training camp in the village of Polyana, Transcarpathian region, where it lost to Khust (1:2). This fight is also the debut for Andrey Anishchenko in the yellow-blue head.

According to the press service of the Kharkiv team, Stanislav Morarenko opened the scoring in the 8th minute.

In the second half of the game, Hoost answered with two accurate shots. Mykola Pilip scored in the 64th minute, and Vasily Lutsiv scored in the 85th minute.

Metalist will play their next friendly on Sunday, July 2, against Minaj.

  • At the end of last season, Metalist finished 15th in the UPL standings and continued to leave the top division;
  • In the First League, teams will play in the same group as Perniagatani, Bukovina, Epicenter, Karpaty, Niva (T), Niva (B), Podolia, Prykarpattya and Khust;
